Dear Ms. Fisher

Uncategorized Add comments

This is an open letter to Ms. Carrie Fisher, public figure, geek icon, human being and woman. This is also an open letter to the geek community I am proud to be a part of.

I am a human, a woman, a geek, and a brain encased in a fleshy form meant to carry about my personality. I may have been hot once. I am making babies and also have skipped my three hours of yoga. I have value. I am more valuable than some internet scumbag who judges a person’s value on the bases of what they look like.

I have value, and Ms. Fisher, I think that you are beautiful.

Here is what I look like, circa a month ago. I am seven months pregnant in the photo, over weight, and full of value far beyond how I look.

Me, Pregnant, For Real

Me, Pregnant, For Real

(This post in response to a blog post written by Ms. Fisher, you can read it here. And more importantly, you should read it.)
